Objective: The aim of this study was to conduct a sociological analysis of the social and cultural factors influencing body management among female master's students at the University of Mazandaran. Method: This study employed a descriptive-correlational survey design. The statistical population consisted of 1,096 female master's students at the University of Mazandaran; a sample of 285 students was selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method based on Cochran's formula. Data were collected using a researcher-made, 73-item questionnaire regarding social and cultural factors affecting body management. The validity and reliability of the instrument were measured at 0.91 and 0.89, respectively. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS and LISREL software. Findings: The data analysis revealed a significant relationship between social factors and body management among the female master's students at the University of Mazandaran. Similarly, a significant relationship was found between cultural factors and body management among this group. Conclusion: Young women place special importance on their physical appearance and bodies. In the current climate, body and appearance management has also become particularly important for young men—a trend likely influenced by the characteristics of late modernity. In late modernity, the clothing we wear and the ways we adorn our bodies give rise to a "body-centric" concept that shapes our sense of self and personality. Consequently, young women prioritize and monitor those aspects of their appearance that fall within their own control and sphere of agency.
